Sodexo Buffalo

Interior Environmental Design | Workstation Extensions
The Story

Following the environmental graphics projects and as referenced in our blog post, Designing for Covid-19 Safety Measures, we designed workstation extension panels to facilitate the return of on-site employees to the Sodexo Buffalo offices. Certain challenges were presented at the onset of this project: unavailability of materials, maintaining the aesthetic of the building and a strict budget.

The most common material used for safety barriers, plexiglass, wasn’t available and retail fixtures were becoming hard to find. These restrictions gave us the chance to explore alternative materials. We decided to use twin-wall polycarbonate which provided rigidity, light transfer, semi-privacy, and a striking design element. We designed all the hardware and had it fabricated in aluminum collaborating with a local vendor.

The result: the client stakeholders are happy, the vast majority of the employees appreciate the added privacy and employees are returning to the workplace.
